Reporting a conversion problem
Conversion faults are much easier to fix with detail. Please include the following, and never attach the document itself unless you are content for us to have a copy — we do not need one to investigate most problems.
- Which tool you used, and the address of the page.
- Your browser and version, and whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer.
- What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
- The approximate size and page count of the file, and anything unusual in it such as embedded fonts, tracked changes or a non-Latin script.
- Any message shown on screen, copied exactly.
What we can and cannot do
We cannot recover a document you converted. Nothing you convert reaches us, so there is no copy on our side to retrieve. If a converted file has been lost, it must be produced again from the original.
We can investigate a conversion that produced the wrong result, correct a mistake on any page, answer a question about how the tools handle a particular kind of document, and act on a copyright or privacy request.
Response times
We aim to reply within 48 hours. Formal copyright notices are acknowledged within five business days, as set out in the DMCA policy.
